High-Tech Scholarship

Application

List of Eligible Programs

Rules and Regulations

The Arkansas High-Tech Scholarship Program plans to award 18 scholarships during the 2008-2009 school year to students enrolling in eligible postsecondary technical programs. These scholarships are awarded at the rate of $250 per semester to a maximum of $500 per school year and until completion of the program or the fourth year.

Arkansas residents who are United States citizens, plan to enroll or are enrolled full time in an approved technical program, demonstrate leadership capabilities, and meet certain academic criteria are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who are graduating high school seniors. Applicants will be considered if they possess the following academic qualifications:

  1. A minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale based on seven semesters

  2. A minimum ACT composite score of 19 (or at least 730 on the SAT combined verbal and math if the ACT score is not available) or be ranked in the upper ten percent of their high school graduating class.

The application deadline for the 2008-2009 academic year is July 1, 2008. (Applications received after this deadline might be considered if scholarship funds are/become available after the fall semester.) The scholarship may be continued a second semester and renewed annually if the recipient is a full-time student in good standing and has achieved a 3.0 grade point average during the previous semester of the scholarship.
