What is Arkansas FCCLA?

It is the Ultimate Leadership Experience!  The Arkansas
FCCLA Association is a state affiliate of the national
organization of Family, Career and Community Leaders
of America, Inc.

FCCLA is a dynamic and effective national
student organization that is dedicated to equipping
young men and women to become leaders
while making a difference in the lives of families,
careers, and communities across the nation
by addressing important personal, work, and
societal issues through family and consumer
sciences education.

Since 1945, more than 9 million youth have been
influenced by this dynamic organization.  Even
today, more than 220,000 members in nearly 7,000
chapters are active in a network of associations in
50 states and the District of Columbia,
the Virgin Islands, and
Puerto Rico, serving as a living testimony of this organization's impact.
Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including teen violence, family relationships,
peer pressure, teen pregnancy, parenting, substance abuse, environment, nutrition and fitness,
and career exploration.

  Who Can Join FCCLA?

Any student through grade 12 who is taking or has taken a family and consumer sciences
course is eligible to join.  In Arkansas alone, there are more than 11,500 students in nearly 350 chapters
who are expanding their leadership potential and developing skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem
solving, decision making and interpersonal communication.
