Every year Arkansas SkillsUSA holds a statewide competition which assists in fostering excellence in our members' mastering the skills needed to be tomorrow's leaders in the workplace. The scope of knowledge and skill demonstrated by our members is incredible! (A tribute to the hard work and support of the advisors and administrators, as well as the students) Secondary (high school) members who win the GOLD MEDAL in the State Championship are awarded a tuition-free scholarship to a participating two year school. A participating school accepts the terms of the scholarship as outlined in our partnership agreement. This is a "virtual" scholarship; as Arkansas SkillsUSA in fact does not pay the scholarship. Rather, the learning institution provides the financial assistance to the student enrolled. In addition, many private colleges offer dollar specific scholarships to medalists who won in an area specific to the courses offered. Our GOLD MEDAL winners have the opportunity to compete on the national level, and are then eligible for scholarships made possible through SkillsUSA partnerships. By participating in this program, your school will benefit by gaining students who have demonstrated the master the skills specific to their occupational field, remain motivated, and be a community leader. We hope that you will become an Arkansas SkillsUSA Scholarship Partner. |
