Chapter Management Institute (CMI) was created just for advisors of SkillsUSA Chapters.

At CMI you will spend an entire week at National Park community College learning with other advisers. This year’s CMI will be held July 19-24, 2009.

You will be assigned to Chapters and learn what is needed to charter your chapter, conduct a business meeting, elect officers, demonstrate opening and closing ceremonies, coordinate fund raising, and partner with business and industry.

You will also learn about the role of an advisor, chapter officers, Chapter ceremonies, chapter meetings, chapter calendar, National Program of Work, establishing committees, chapter activity evaluation and competitions and conferences.

At CMI you will be given the resources you need to be successful. The classes you take will utilize these resources. You also will be taught how to get additional resources for the future. As part of your registration fees, you will receive:

             Advisor's Success Kit (ASK) CD ROM
            The SkillsUSA Leadership Handbook
            The SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards Manual
            Level 1 Professional Development Program
            Sample documents needed to establish and maintain a chapter

CMI provides advisors with 40 Professional Development Hours.
